What is the Minimum Distance a Treatment Plant can be Installed from a Property?

In general, it’s recommended to install a sewage treatment plant at least seven meters away from a property. This helps prevent any potential odour issues and ensures the system functions properly. However, not everyone has enough space for this distance or access to a suitable drainage field located 15 metres away. In such cases, it’s important to consult with the building authority responsible for approving the project to find the best possible solution that meets the regulations and requirements of the specific situation. Working together, a compromise can be reached to ensure an appropriate installation.
