This past weekend, one of our own took to the stage. Not at a conference or a construction site, but under the lights of a bodybuilding competition. On Saturday 28th June, GRAF UK’s Mark Caswell stepped out of his comfort zone and onto the stage at the PCA First Timers (4) event in Derby… and walked away as the Masters Over 50’s Class Winner.
Mark’s dedication in preparing for this moment has been nothing short of extraordinary. Over many months, he’s balanced work and life with a laser focus on training, nutrition, and mindset – embodying the very essence of GRAF UK’s values: Constantly Improve. Take Ownership. Find a Way.
This wasn’t just about lifting weights, it was about lifting standards. Mark’s achievement reflects the kind of commitment we admire in every walk of life. Competing against a strong field of fellow first-timers, Mark’s poise, condition, and performance stood out and earned him a well-deserved win.
“It was brilliant! You’re always nervous about forgetting something, or your routine not being quite right, or something happening, but it worked out and here we are!” Mark shared in a post-show interview. “I started prepping last October, bulked over the winter and then started cutting in preparation for today. The last week was difficult, but you just think you’re almost there and it’s worth it.”
But his journey doesn’t stop here! As a result of winning his category, Mark has been invited to compete at the British Finals in Telford last this year.
We’re incredibly proud of him, not only for the trophy, but for showing what’s possible when you put your mind (and muscles) to something. Mark’s story is a brilliant reminder that strength comes in many forms, and personal goals are just as worthy of celebration as professional ones.
