GRAF UK’s Fourth Annual Golf Day Raises Over £3,000 for Katharine House Hospice

Our fourth annual charity golf day at Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club was another brilliant success, raising over £3,000 for Katharine House Hospice. With perfect weather and 12 teams ready for action, the day had everything you could ask for in a charity golf event.

The format worked perfectly again this year, teams arrived at 11:30am for registration, bacon rolls, and plenty of tea and coffee before the shotgun start at 1pm. The best 2 from 4 Stableford format kept things competitive while ensuring everyone could contribute to their team’s score, regardless of handicap.

Competition was fierce throughout the day, with teams battling it out across the course. When the scores were tallied up, Honesberie took the top spot and claimed the Carat Jug. James Burrell secured second place with some impressive golf, while Banbury Rugby Club rounded out the podium in third.

Beyond the main competition, players had plenty of opportunities to win additional prizes through the various on-course challenges. The superticket option proved popular again, giving golfers the chance to win up to eight different prizes including nearest the pin competitions on all four par 3s, nearest the pin in 2 shots, longest drive, and even shortest drive on the first hole.

The whole day perfectly captured what these charity events are all about. Great golf, good company, and raising money for a cause that really matters to our local community. Katharine House Hospice provides invaluable care and support to families during their most difficult times, so being able to contribute through something as enjoyable as a golf day makes it even more rewarding.

As we start thinking about next year’s event, we’re already looking forward to building on this success. The combination of excellent facilities at Staverton Park, enthusiastic participants, and the knowledge that we’re supporting such a worthy cause makes this one of our favorite events of the year.

Thanks to everyone who took part, donated, or contributed raffle prizes. Your support made the day a great success and will make a real difference to Katharine House Hospice and the families they support.
