Supporting Our Customers – James Burrell Golf Day

GRAF UK was proud to sponsor the recent James Burrell Charity Golf Day at the prestigious Northumberland Golf Club. Our Head of Stormwater Sales North, Lisa Rossi, made the trip to Newcastle and came back with glowing reports of a fantastic day in the sunshine.

The event brought together 18 teams made up of James Burrell staff, customers, and guests, all battling it out for the top spot on the leaderboard. It’s exactly the kind of event we love supporting, combining business relationships with charitable fundraising and a good dose of friendly competition.

The day was raising money for two excellent causes, Prostate Cancer UK and Mind. Both charities do vital work supporting people through some of life’s toughest challenges, so being able to contribute to their fundraising efforts made the day even more meaningful.

“It was a brilliant day from start to finish,” explains Lisa. “The hospitality was fantastic, the weather couldn’t have been better, and it was great to see so many familiar faces alongside plenty of new ones.”

One of the real highlights for Lisa was getting involved at the halfway house, where she helped serve refreshments and ended up having loads of conversations with attendees. These informal moments often prove just as valuable as formal meetings for building relationships and understanding what’s happening in the industry.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with existing contacts, engage with contractors we work with regularly, and build new relationships with people we hadn’t met before. Golf days have a unique way of breaking down formal barriers and creating genuine connections.

For GRAF UK, supporting customer events like this is about being part of the community we serve. When our customers organise charitable events, we want to be there supporting them, just as they support us throughout the year.

The James Burrell team clearly knows how to organise a proper golf day. From the choice of venue to the organisation on the day, everything ran smoothly and created an atmosphere where business networking and charitable fundraising came together perfectly.
