We had a great day supporting the Banbury Green Fair at Lock29 again this year. With a good turnout from local families and environmentally-minded residents, it was the perfect opportunity to share some practical water-saving tips with our local community.
The event ran from 9am to 4pm on Saturday 9th August, and our team set up a stand focused on one simple message: small changes in daily habits can make a big difference to water conservation. Rather than overwhelming people with complex environmental data, we kept things practical and achievable.
The star of our stand was our brand new GRAF UK 4-minute shower timers, which we were giving away free to anyone interested in reducing their water consumption. The response was brilliant, people were genuinely interested in learning how much water they could save just by cutting a minute or two off their shower time.
A 4-minute shower uses roughly 32 litres of water compared to around 60 litres for a typical 8-minute shower. When you multiply that across a family and a whole year, the savings really add up, both for household bills and for reducing pressure on water supplies.
The fair provided an excellent platform for getting GRAF UK in front of local people and raising awareness about water conservation and our products and services. Events like this help build connections within the Banbury community while promoting practical environmental action.
Beyond the shower timers, we had plenty of conversations about water-saving techniques, rainwater harvesting, and how households can become more resilient during periods of water scarcity. With hosepipe bans becoming more common during summer months, people are increasingly interested in practical solutions.
The Green Fair attracts people who are already thinking about environmental issues, so our water-saving message resonated well. Many visitors were dealing with water restrictions in their own gardens and were keen to learn about rainwater harvesting options for future summers.
It’s events like the Banbury Green Fair that remind us why community engagement matters. By supporting local environmental initiatives and sharing practical water-saving tips, we’re helping build a more water-conscious community right on our doorstep.
We’re already looking forward to supporting next year’s event and continuing to spread the word about simple, effective water conservation.
