GRAF UK was proud to take part in the Whitbread charity shoot day at Honesberie Shooting, raising valuable funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. It was another opportunity to support an incredible cause while enjoying some friendly competition at a venue we know well from hosting our own charity events.
The day brought together teams from major brands including Coca-Cola, Heineken, PepsiCo, and ourselves, all united in supporting one of the UK’s most important children’s charities. There’s something special about seeing different companies come together for a cause that touches so many families across the country.
Great Ormond Street Hospital holds a special place in many people’s hearts, providing life-changing treatment for seriously ill children when they need it most. The work they do with young cancer patients and their families is nothing short of remarkable, which makes events like this even more meaningful.
Whitbread has been an incredible supporter of the hospital, having already raised well over £10 million as part of their ambitious pledge to raise £20 million. These funds will go toward building the Children’s Cancer Centre at the hospital, a facility that will transform care for young patients and their families during some of the most challenging times imaginable.
Honesberie Shooting provided the perfect setting for the day. We’ve partnered with them on numerous events, including our own charity shoot The Flush, so we knew participants would be in for a well-organised day of clay pigeon shooting in beautiful surroundings.
The competitive element added an extra dimension to the fundraising efforts. Teams battled it out on the clays while knowing that every shot was helping to raise money for children who are fighting much bigger battles in hospital wards across London.
It’s events like the Whitbread shoot day that remind us why corporate social responsibility matters. When businesses come together to support causes like Great Ormond Street Hospital, the collective impact can be transformative. The £20 million pledge represents hope, advanced treatment facilities, and better outcomes for seriously ill children.
For GRAF UK, supporting events like this aligns perfectly with our values and helps to make people’s lives better. Whether it’s through our own charity events or joining initiatives led by other organisations, we believe in using our position to contribute to causes that make a real difference.
The combination of great company, competitive shooting, and supporting an incredible cause made for a memorable day. Most importantly, it contributed to a fundraising effort that will have lasting impact on children’s healthcare in the UK.
We’re already looking forward to seeing how Whitbread’s fundraising progresses toward their £20 million target and the difference the new Children’s Cancer Centre will make once it’s completed.
