GRAF UK recently completed the installation of a 962m³ EcoBloc stormwater management system in Kingwells, Aberdeenshire, for a new housing development by Stewart Milne Homes. The project required the installation of EcoBloc light combined with rows of EcoBloc inspect flex with one internal corner. The task was undertaken by WM Donald Ltd., who collaborated closely with Filpumps.
The site in Aberdeenshire, a considerable 9-hour drive from most of our installers, posed a logistical challenge. The objective was to install a significant volume of stormwater management blocks efficiently despite the remote location and inclement weather.
The installation team travelled to the site on Sunday, ensuring they were ready to begin work early Monday morning. Upon arrival, they found the excavation perfectly prepared according to the method statement, thanks to the meticulous work of WM Donald Ltd.
The project kicked off promptly on Monday. By lunchtime, the team had completed laying the membrane base, allowing them to begin assembling the over 4,000 EcoBloc units required for the 962m³ tank. Despite persistent rain throughout the week, the team worked tirelessly to complete the installation.
Remarkably, the entire installation was completed within 4.5 days. By midnight on Friday, the team had returned to Oxfordshire, ready for a well-earned weekend rest. The efficient completion of this project was a testament to the dedication and hard work of the installation team, who managed early starts and long distances to deliver exceptional results.
