Water Butt for Wykham Park

GRAF UK Ltd., a leading provider of water management solutions, including garden water butts, recently collaborated with Wykham Park Academy to support the school’s Academic Nurture Group. This group consists of passionate and inquisitive pupils with educational needs who are cared for by a dedicated team of teachers and carers. The students have a keen interest in gardening but faced a significant challenge due to the long distance they had to walk to fetch water using watering cans and milk bottles.

Recognising the group’s enthusiasm and the difficulty they faced, GRAF UK decided to assist by donating and installing a water butt to make their gardening activities easier. Fionnuala Conway, Godfrey Bowen, and Alan McLaughlin from GRAF UK personally visited the school to deliver and set up the water butt. This practical addition aimed to simplify the watering process and enhance the students’ gardening experience.

The water butt was installed near the garden area used by the Academic Nurture Group, allowing the students to access water more conveniently. This installation significantly reduced the physical effort and time previously spent on fetching water, enabling the students to focus more on their gardening projects.

The new water butt quickly became a vital part of the Academic Nurture Group’s routine. The students were thrilled with the new addition, and their gratitude was evident through a heartfelt thank-you card they created for the GRAF UK team. The installation not only eased their daily tasks but also boosted their morale and enthusiasm for gardening.

Alan McLaughlin, a representative from GRAF UK, shared his thoughts on the project: “It took very little to make a massive difference and spread a little happiness, and it was worth every minute we spent there. We are proud to have been able to support the Academic Nurture Group at Wykham Park Academy and witness the joy it brought to these wonderful children.”
