How Does the GRAF Garden Comfort System Work?

This is an overview of the GRAF Garden Comfort system. We’ve got our Platin tank in the ground just here. So all you’ll see in the garden is just this green lid. As you can see, we’re taking the water from the roof via the downpipe through underground drainage and into the tank, into this basket filter that will collect any leaves, debris that fall onto the roof and stop them from going into the tank.

The water then drops down and fills the tank, and then when the tank gets full, we have an overflow siphon to allow the excess water to flow to either a soak away or a storm drain.

We have an automatic submersible pump that sits on the bottom of the tank. And then we have a floating intake, which comprises of a non-return valve, a strainer, and a ball float. This allows the intake to rise and fall with the level of the water, so we’re always taking the water from just below the surface. We have a permanent power supply to the pump, and the pump can then be connected to one of two different outlet points.

Within the lid of the tank, we have an internal hose connection point, which has this smaller flip cover. We have one of two points for the water to be extracted from the tank. We have this internal hose connection point just here, so we have a smaller flip cover and then a hose lock connection. So we simply open the cover, connect our hose on the pump, then recognizes a drop in pressure turns itself on in order to pump the water out to sprinkler, or a hose pipe for watering the plants or washing your car.

The other accessory that comes with the garden comfort package is an external hose connection point. So again, within the lawn, all we will see is a smaller plastic green lid. We would have a duct running underground from the tank to this box. And again, to utilise this, we simply lift the small cover. We then have two hose lock connection points. We just connect the hose on, open up the valve. The pump again, turns itself on so we can make use of the water. And then when we finished, simply close the valve, undo the hose, pop the lid back on the pump, will then recognize that there’s no flow of water, put itself in standby mode, and quite happily sit there waiting until you want to use it again.
