This has been a crazy summer – of that there is no doubt!
During the Covid pandemic, many businesses have struggled to keep the doors open, whilst others have adapted and are thriving by thinking outside of the box. Businesses who have previously relied on ‘in person’ contact have been relocating their face-to-face model to online, and some have been growing as a result. For example, Graf UK, who provide industrial and commercial water treatment solutions, together with Garantia, who supply garden accessories direct to customers, created a Virtual Garden Festival at the end of August.
This online event opened up opportunities for keen amateur gardeners to show off their beautiful garden creations and get professionally judged to win prizes galore (and kudos) throughout the summer. With hundreds of entries and thousands more interacting on social media, it’s fair to say that the online version of the show was a bloomin’ success! Plus, it’s set deep roots for more online competitions to come, with customers keen for another chance to grow and win big!
Here are some of the winners from this year’s show:
And we’re getting attention for #H2OSAFE
Garantia launched this competition in association with Graf UK to bring attention to the rising issues in water conservation and the potential for a water crisis in the UK by:
- Preventing flooding in increasingly extreme weather conditions, through storm-water management
- Preventing sewage being discharged into watercourses
- Putting the precious resource of rainwater to good use through rainwater harvesting
